Mosaic Bowling Ball with Bird Finial
This mosaic bowling ball was made by Member bouncingpig and here she shares her "how-to's" with us:
This was my first mosaic'ed bowling ball done with broken plates - I just put the plates in a towel and "whacked" them with a hammer. Although, I did use tile nippers on a few pieces. I wanted a funky look for this bowling ball, so I let plate bases and even some logos on the dishes show. The bird was just a little figurine I had around - fun and funky! I used Pro Series SF450 Heavy Duty Sub-Floor & Construction Adhesive (the kind you use with a gun. Cost was under $2.00). The adhesive is waterproof and weather proof, so I really like it and I've used it in the past and it's held up well. Then, I just grouted "as usual"
