What is a Doritaenopsis or Dpts.?

A Doritaenopsis (often abbreviated as Dpts.) is a cross between two closely related genus--a Doritis and a Phalaenopsis. Recently, taxonomists have been debating whether or not a Doritis should be included in the Phalaenopsis genus as it is very closely related.
