Vitex for menstrual control

gwtamara

Vitex is also known as chaste tree (to curb sexual urges) and at the same time as monk's pepper (an aphrodisiac). It is a herb that regulates the menstrual cycle by normalizing the pituitary hormones and progesterone that cause ovulation. It is a slow acting herb and may take several months to take effect. Usually Vitex is given for menstrual irregularities and infertility due to hormonal problems. It may also be taken at the onset of menopause.

Other femal herbs are motherwort (brings on a flow), Alchemilla mollis, dong kwai. Good literature is found in Penelope Ody's Medicinal Herbal, and The Natural
Remedy Book for Women (Diane Stein).
