Yea the UK forum is pretty slow but aren't they all at one time or another. I think they're up to about 250 members now including some from Oz. Like Komi said, some great Ang info to be had there. There are also some pretty amazing photographs to be seen on that forum. Speaking of people here being 'nice', you should check out the thread on orchids in the house plant forum. They mention how intimidating the orchid forum is and how apparently many have had less than ideal experiences. I was thinking it was a lot better than it used to be...haha MB

Sorry, I learned them as 'dear' back in the 60's. Occurred to me later that 'darling' had become the usage... showing my age, I reckon. Also shows that while acronyms have their place, we better be sure we're speaking (writing?) the same jargon else we'll only be talking to ourselves.

Hi, Johnny D. Welcome. When I got my first PC, I found "boards" where I found many acronyms. Took a while to figure them out, but I wondered who started it, and why? Why not just type a few more letters? But then I am old school, and I don't have any of those must-have gadgets; not even a cell phone. I do use the acronyms. One that I have seen recently that I had to Google to find out the meaning of is Meh. Huh? Okay, I've only seen it a couple times, but it is so meaningless. It really is not a word, or letters that spell a word. It indicates a lack of interest in the topic, boredom, or get this: a shoulder shrug. Who cares if you aren't interested? SOB works just fine. ;) Sue
