Given you have a plum nearby and probably more plum/pluot in the area, I'd plant the best fruit and hope I didn't have to thin too much. Flavor Grenade over sets enough to be a royal pain so don't worry about it. Geo Pride also sets very well. Those are my favorites of the ones you mention. Dapple Dandy isn't very sweet and I don't care for the flavor or texture. Emerald Drop sets very well but isn't as good as several others. Flavor Supreme rates with Flavor King as the best fruit but doesn't set well and bees only visit by mistake. I don't know why they say it would pollinate anything. Flavor King, along with Supreme, has the best flavor of any pluot or plum. King sets well but not as much as most. Flavor Finale has very good flavor but doesn't hold really well on the tree or off. My favorites are: Supreme, Pride, King, Finale, and Flavor Treat which isn't widely available.

Since pepper flowers are capable of pollinating themselves, chaances are they they get pollinated soon after they open, before a different cultivar can cross with them. It is already fairly rare. To guarantee that crosses do not occur, you can bag the blossom with any number of materials. I have heard of people making little bags out of toole (a type of fine netlike fabric). You could probably also use some sort of women's nylons. Don't use a plastic bag though, as it may overheat and it traps moisture. As soon as the flower shows signs of a pepper, you can remove the bag, just mark the pepper to ensure you remember which one it is.

Well, I think they call hot tomatoes, "salsa", and you can make peach, mango and strawberry salsa also. The fruit salsa's taste great with some balsamic vinegar along with the peppers for that kick! All you need is a bowl, a knife, and a spoon to mix it all up! Have fun! Suzi

Hi Paul, I am from China and not aware of all varieties you mentioned, such as yellow banana bell. But here is something you may want to know: 1, Species would be a different meaning from varieties, crossing usually happened by chance between the same species but differents varieties. Different species MAY have crossed and set fruit, give you seeds, lower chance. 2, A cross may hightly lead to RED FRUIT on mature, for the yellow, white and brown color of fruit is ALLELE LOSS. But RED one is INTEGRITY. 3, Spicie from parents MAY hightly lead to even, but there is many content making the pepper taste hot in fact. So a hybrid variety could be more spicie than any parent if the parents are complementary on these content. 4 (original selection), To remain and prevent from fruits changing: 1) Make sure the varieties you have grown is NOT HYBRID seeds. Hybrid seeds will derive greatly on the F2 generation. 2) You have already lost the original seeds and need to buy them again. 3) Plant new seeds. When the pepper is blooming, remove the flowers and keep the bud. Put pollen separation net on EACH varieties. Mark the bud on anthocaulus by color or wire. Remove the nets when 5 to 20 fruit set on each plant as needed. Wait for the marked fruits mature. Collect fruits WITH MARK for EACH variety, then original seeds have remained. Tips: a) If a different type plant was found before blooming on one variety, remove it. b) Do step 4 every one or two years, and keeps the seeds on last two generations. If a selection failed, plant the last original generation and keep selection. c) A normal original selection needs at least 30 plants for each varieties.
