What is a Round Robin?, AKA Seed Swap Pass

What is a Round Robin, sometimes known as a Seed Swap Pass.
There are different types of Round Robins, they can be for seeds, (mixed, vegetables, perennials, annuals), they can be for anything that the originator decides upon.
The starter of a Round Robin will post the type of 'Round Robin'. Once she or he has selected the number of participants and the route the Robin will take, they will mail the Robin, usually they will also at this time announce the flight path of the Robin. The Robin will be sent to the first person on the Flight list, this also is decided by the originator. It will follow its route from person to person, with each taking out as many items as they choose and replacing those items with the same number of items of their choosing, keeping in mind the guidelines of the originator. The Robin is then shipped to the next person on the list and generally it will be posted on this forum when the Robin has landed 'meaning a new person received it' or that the Robin is in the air, 'meaning that it is on the way to the next person'.

I need some greens! Mustard, spinach, et al. I just became a member @ gardenweb and have yet to participate in round-robin forum trading. What should I be offering in trade? I have pepper varieties from super-hot to vanilla lame. Watermelon, a few varieties. I am seriously searching for greens for this fall, as it is too far gone for my zone presently. Thanks, Lisa. In your post on Round Robin Exchange you say that each participant must have a Wants List. That means that I need to use the link on my member page that says "See my trade list" to the left of "Send me an email", and fill in the section "Seeds I am looking for." Is that correct? Or do I send a hard copy of what I want with the seeds that I am trading? Or both? On #7 of your instructions does 80 refers to the Conference # of Round Robin? Do I write Conf #80 on my return label? Sorry for so many newbie questions. Thx! Angela, that is what I did. The prob. with it is I zip tied my tiny little lights on and have to prop up my flats until the plants are big enough. It is a huge pain. There is also really only room for 1 flat per shelf. I figured it out according to Lowes $ for lumber and the cheapest shop lights they show online and I think you could build one for around 75-80. In my opinion, by the time you purchase the shelving unit and a couple lights, you might as well do this. I think you will have much more room and it will work better as far as moving the lights up and down. Just my opinion, though. If you already have a shelving unit, it might make more sense to do that until later, but the lumber is only going to cost around 20 bucks right now, at least in my area. OSB is $6 and 2x4 or 1.77 here. I am not sure you can buy a shelving unit, even cheap plastic for that. I just need an upgrade or more room or something.
