Would a Bonsai survive in one?
In a sealed, low maintainence, terrarium? No. True bonsai are trees and shrubs. They require a fair amount of maintainence especially with regard to trimming of roots and branches in order to keep their growth stunted. If planted directly in a terr the tree would quickly try to revert to normal growth habits [and outgrow the terr] or die from unsatisfactory growing conditions. If one chooses a tropical tree (such as a small ficus), keeps it in its pot, is willing to do the necessary maintainence, & provides the necessary air circulation/temp/light/etc then it can be done.
