What is a good media for carnivorous plants in a terrarium?

A layer of gravel approximately .5-1 inch [1.5 -2.5 centimeters] on the very bottom of the container. Next a 1.5-3 inch layer of 50% perlite and 50% peat has worked well for me. There are other "recipes" out there. For example some people add charcoal to their media. Dried or live sphagnum moss can also be used.
